  • CLAT Common Law Admission Test

    Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is conducted as per a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the convenience of the students seeking admission to various National Law Universities in the country. An entrance test is conducted to provide a list of candidates on the basis of ‘merit-cum- preference’ to each University for admission to their Under-Graduate (UG)/Post-Graduate (PG) programmes, as per the eligibility, reservation and other criteria laid down under the respective Statutes of the participating Universities. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), is an all India common entrance examination, conducted on rotational basis by 19 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to their UG and PG degree programmes. Accordingly, the first Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) was conducted in the year 2008. Presently there are 19 NLUs participating in CLAT and following the policy of rotation, the Eleventh Common Law Admission Test (CLAT - 2018) is being organised by NUALS, Kochi. The nineteen NLUs offer five-year integrated Under-Graduate Law Programmes leading to the award of a degree in Law as per their respective nomenclature. Most NLUs also offer PG Programmes in Law. The information pertaining to the LL.B. and LL.M. Degree Course offered at various NLUs along with the course duration and the specializations offered has been provided in detail under the respective sections of each University’s website and information brochure. The candidates are advised to check the websites of the respective Universities from time to time to keep themselves updated with any change in the course structure or other details.
  • CMAT Common Management Admission Test

    Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national level entrance examination for entry into management programmes. Till 2018, it was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The Test will now be conducted by the NTA. The CMAT is a three hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session to evaluate the candidate's ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. This test facilitates Institutions to select suitable graduate candidates for admission in all Management programs. The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges. Eligibility for CMAT 2019 Applicant must be a citizen of India. Graduates in any discipline can apply for CMAT exam. Final year students of Graduate Courses (10+2+3) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for academic year 2019-20 can also apply for CMAT online exam.

    Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka COMEDK is the “Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” – an autonomous institution consisting of senior academicians and reputed administrative officers who have been associated in educational eco system. This autonomous COMEDK was entrusted the responsibility to organise testing procedures to determine the merit of aspiring students in an effective, fair, transparent and non-exploitative procedure by KPCF (Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation – Medical & Dental) and KUPECA (Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association).     GRADUATE PHARMACY APTITUDE TEST (GPAT) is a national level entrance examination for entry into M.Pharm programmes. The Test will now be conducted by the NTA. This test facilitates institutions to select suitable Pharmacy graduates for admission into the Master's (M.Pharm) program. The GPAT is a three hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session. The GPAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges. A few scholarships and other financial assistance in the field of Pharmacy are also given on the basis of the GPAT score. Eligibility for GPAT 2019 Applicant must be a citizen of India. They must be Bachelor's degree holders in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry candidates). Those who are in the final year of B. Pharmacy course are also eligible for appearing in GPAT exam. B.Tech (Pharmaceutical and fine chemical technology) / Equivalent Students are not eligible to appear for GPAT examination.

    JEE Advanced is conducted by the seven Zonal Coordinating IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB). The seven IITs are IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee. Admissions to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the 23 IITs is on the basis of JEE Advanced 2019 ranks. JEE Advanced 2019 will be conducted by IIT Roorkee aided by the remaining six IITs mentioned above. The application forms of JEE Advanced 2019 will be available tentatively in the first week of May. The entrance exam, JEE Advanced 2019 will be held on May 19 in two shits (9 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm). The application process is online while the entrance test is computer based. The exam has two parts which are mandatory and come from the predefined syllabus released by the authorities. Candidates are required to download their admit cards a few days prior to the exam and the result of JEE Advanced 2019 will be announced tentatively in June. Admissions will be through counselling conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority also known as JoSAA.

    Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) MAIN will be conducted by the NTA from 2019 onwards. This Examination was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018. JEE Main is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) MAIN will be conducted by the NTA from 2019 onwards. This Examination was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018.     The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an on-going National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to attract exceptionally highly motivated students for pursuing basic science courses and research career in science.The objective of the program is to identify students with talent and aptitude for research; help them realize their academic potential; encourage them to take up research careers in Science, and ensure the growth of the best scientific minds for research and development in the country.The advertisement for the KVPY Fellowship appears in all the national dailies normally on the Technology Day (May 11) and the Second Sunday of July every year.Selection of the students is made from those studying in XI standard to 1st year of any undergraduate Program in Basic Sciences namely B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology having aptitude for scientific researc.Special groups / Committees are set up at IISc to screen the applications and conduct an aptitude test at various centres in the country. Based on the performance in the aptitude test, short-listed students are called for an interview which is the final stage of the selection procedure. For receiving a fellowship, both aptitude test and interview marks are considered.Generous fellowships are provided up to the pre-Ph.D. level to the selected KVPY Fellows.

Eligibility-Class 12 (PCMB) Apply-Online, By Post Activity- January to March National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is a compulsory test for students seeking admission to National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai. Both NISER and UM-DAE CEBS were set up by Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India in 2007. Their mandate is to train scientific manpower for carrying out cutting edge scientific research and for providing input to scientific programmes of Department of Atomic Energy and other applied science institutions in the country. NEST 2017 will be conducted in 60 cities [see list] (124 venues) across India. The brochure gives the detailed procedure for applying for the test, syllabus of the test and various dead lines. NISER, Bhubaneswar and UM-DAE CEBS, Mumbai are in compliance with the UGC and Govt. of India guidelines on anti-ragging. Ragging in any form is a punishable offense and hence is totally prohibited on these campuses.   • NEET National Eligibility Entrance Test

    The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET is an entrance test for entry in medical study. NEET-UG is a single entrance test for admissions to more than 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats across India. Undergraduate courses at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Postgraduate Institute for Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research JIPMER are outside the NEET’s purview, as these institutes were set up by separate laws.

    On behalf of UGC, the National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals ‘only for Assistant Professor’ or ‘for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor both’ in Indian Universities and Colleges Till recently, the CBSE conducted the UGC-NET in 84 subjects at 91 selected cities spread across the country. From Dec 2018 onwards, the UGC-NET will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The award of ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both’ or ‘Eligibility for Assistant Professor only’ depends on the performance of the candidate in both the papers of UGC-NET in aggregate. However, the candidates qualifying for ‘Assistant Professor only’ are not to be considered for award of JRF. Additionally, candidates who qualify the Test for eligibility for Assistant Professor are governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of Assistant Professor of the concerned universities/colleges/state governments, as the case may be. Eligibility Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC (on the website: https://www.ugc.ac.in/oldpdf/consolidated%20list%20of%20All%20universities.pdf) in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test. The Other Backward Classes(OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer/Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribe(ST)/ persons with disability(PwD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test. Candidates who are pursuing their Master's degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of Junior Research Fellowship/eligibility for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master's Degree OR equivalent examination with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of OBC falling in Non-Creamy layer/SC/ST/PwD (persons with disability)) category candidates. Such candidates must complete their Masters degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified. Candidates belonging to third gender in other words transgender would be eligible to draw the same relaxation in fee, age and qualifying criteria for NET (i.e. Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor) as are available to SC/ST/PwD categories. The subject wise cut-offs for this category should be the lowest among those for SC/ST/PwD/OBC NCL categories in the corresponding subject. The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET. Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post graduation only. The candidates, whose post graduation subject is not covered in the list of subjects, may appear in a related subject. Candidates having post-graduate diploma/certificate awarded by Indian University/ Institute or foreign degree/diploma/certificate awarded by the foreign University/institute should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their diploma/degree/certificate with Master s degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.   • Swayam

    To achieve three cardinal principles of Education Policy viz., access, equity and quality, Ministry of HRD, has embarked on a major and new initiative, called SWAYAM. SWAYAM is providing best teaching learning resources to all, including the most disadvantaged. It seeks to bridge, the digital divide, for students, who have hitherto remained untouched by the digital revolution and have not been able to join the mainstream of the knowledge economy. SWAYAM provide one integrated platform and a portal for online courses, using information and communication technology, covering learners from Schooling, class 9 to 12; Under Graduates & Post Graduates, in all subjects. At present more than 1,500 MOOCs are hosted on SWAYAM, prepared by specially chosen faculty and teachers, across the Country. The courses are interactive and are available free of cost, to the learners. The courses hosted on SWAYAM follow 4 quadrant methodology – (1) e-Tutorial; containing Video and Audio Content in an organized form; (2) e-Contents; containing, self-instructional material, e-Books, case studies, presentations etc; (3) Discussion forum; for raising doubts and clarifying them on a near real time basis by the Course Coordinator or his team and (4) Assessment; which contains, Problems and Solutions. Steps have been taken to enrich the learning experience by using audio-video and multi-media and state of the art pedagogy / technology. In order to ensure best quality content are produced and delivered, nine National Coordinators (NCs) have been engaged by the MHRD: They are CEC for under-graduate education, NPTEL for engineering, UGC for non-technical post-graduation education, AICTE for self-paced and international courses, NCERT & NIOS for school education, IGNOU for out of the school students, IIMB for management studies and NITTTR for Teacher Training programme. Meanwhile, UGC and AICTE have issued ‘Credit Framework for online learning courses through SWAYAM, Regulation 2016’ (http://www.ugc.ac.in/pdfnews/0272836_moocs.pdf); allowing upto 20% Online courses taken through SWAYAM, to be counted for credit. Grades earned by successful students studying in conventional Institutes shall be transferred to the academic record of such Students. Further, in order to bring transparency and qualitative difference, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt., of India, has set up ‘National Testing Agency’ (NTA), (www.nta.ac.in) a premier testing organization, for conduct of Competitive entrance examinations, for Admissions and Fellowships in higher educational Institutions. Starting from 18 th December 2018, NTA is committed to conduct UGC-NET, JEE (Main), NEET, CMAT, GPAT etc for students numbering more than 40 Lakhs. During ‘July-November 2018 session’, students wanting certifications, SWAYAM has registered about 3800 students for 90 courses, with a little fee. The examinations on this, is being conducted by NTA, thought the country, using Computer Based Testing (CBT) methodology, on 1 st and 2 nd December 2018, at about 62 cities and 85 Centers. The students shall be offered a certificate on successful completion of the course.
